Lauren is the filmmaker behind Lovebug Pictures, a company dedicated to crafting emotional and authentic love stories. Her passion for documentary film and commitment to fostering personal connections have led her to this path.

Lauren’s background


One hundred weddings and counting


Lauren is a Portland, Oregon-based filmmaker who specializes in documenting weddings and events worldwide. She has had the honor of filming more than 100 weddings to date and has been featured in publications such as Green Wedding Shoes, Style Me Pretty, The Wed, Wedding Chicks, and more. In 2024, she was awarded Oregon Wedding Day’s Best Videographer.

With a deep passion for crafting wedding films that defy convention, Lauren seeks to preserve her couples' unique essence. She employs a documentary approach when working with her clients, creating an unobtrusive yet supportive environment.

More about Lauren


Lauren has had the opportunity to travel and work all over the world, from Assam, India, to Sydney, Australia.

She received her MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts from Duke University and continues to work on various documentary films. Most recently, Lauren served as a camera operator on the film Leave No Trace, available on Hulu. She also produced a feature-length film with director Irene Taylor Brodsky and award-winning deaf actor Marlee Matlin, exploring the life of the late deaf bodybuilder “Siren,” who starred on American Gladiators in the early 1990s.

In the summer of 2023, Lauren married her husband, Josh, in the Columbia Gorge. In January 2024, they welcomed their daughter, Stella, into the world. They also have two dogs and one cat.

Portland-based, down to travel


Lovebug Pictures is based in Portland, Oregon, but we’re ready to travel anywhere for love! We’ve shot destination weddings from Yosemite, California to Savannah, Georgia, and as far as Verona, Italy.

Do you work alone or do you have a studio and/or team?


Lauren works with a team of documentary filmmakers who she works with regularly. She never outsources any of the post-production work.

What should couples consider when choosing a wedding videographer?


Couples should invest as much time in finding their wedding videographer as their photographer. You’ll be spending a large part of your day together, so make sure your videographer resonates with you and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera.
